My name is Jacqueline but most people called me Jackie.
I live in Rugby in Warwickshire, yes the place where the game Rugby was founded when Web Ellis picked up the ball and ran, and of Rugby School where Tom Brown from Tom Browns school days went to school.
I have always had some sort of pets since I’ve been married my hubby bought me a Corgi as a wedding present, as I was never allowed to have any as a child except for tibby my adopted stray cat, who we had for about 13 years.
I have always loved animals, and always wanted my own children to have pet of their own.
In 1972 to around 1974 I used to breed and show Rabbits and Cavies under the stud name of Folly Foot, I used to do quite well with my Agouti’s and Peruvians, and even getting a best in show at British Timpkin Show..
I have always had a great love of the Himalayan Cavies, but in my day I just couldn’t afford them, after a fatal accident to my Rabbits and Cavies I gave up keeping them.
Some years later I went into breeding and showing Love birds and Parrots, but after a break in and several were stolen along with the show cages I have given up showing them and just keep the ones I still have as pets but still breed some love birds.
Now my hubby and I are retired and I guess it is time to have what you want within reason, so I have got five Lion Head Rabbits two bucks and three doe's and my very much longed for Himalayan Cavies thanks to Fiona of Aquarius Stud who has very kindly started me off with a trio of Black Himalayan Cavies.
Now I have got started I haven't stopped, I have really got the bug, along with more Himalayans, I have Rex's, Coronets, Sheltie,Texel's, Merino's, Black/Tans, Cocolate/Tans, and now looking out for Peruvians and Alpaca's
I look forward along with my husband to having a go at showing and have done quite well.
I really enjoy meeting like minded people, and learning from them.
I also have a great interest in miniature ‘s I have several Dolls houses, and mini projacts, I enjoy making my own stuff to go in them, along with the people, and it has been great fun doing some of the people who are in my congregation, I also do a Christmas project each year for my Church, which seems to give people a lot of pleasure.
